Have you ever thought about a different way to work through your problems without having to sit in an office? Walk and talk therapy might be for you.
What is walk and talk therapy?
Walk and Talk Therapy is a mindfulness-based, body-oriented approach that helps clients relax, reduce rumination, release physical tension, breathe deeply, and gain mind-body insights while processing their experiences in a new and engaging way. It is not about fitness. It is about getting outside and moving forward. The client sets the pace. However, fast or slow depends on the client’s needs. As with conventional therapy, there are goals set and a format that leads towards meeting those goals. A discussion around privacy concerns will take place in an online intake session. All physical considerations are also discussed in the intake session. A physician consultation is recommended.
What led me to starting a walk and talk therapy practice?
In December 2024, I earned my PhD in Applied Ecopsychology. I was attracted to the idea that we are our most natural selves when we are outside. The principles can have a transformative power of helping us be more mindful and in the moment. It allows us to heal the past and not overthink about the future.
